Olive Garden Locations in the USA: Find Restaurants by State (2026)
Olive Garden Locations in the United States
If you’ve driven through almost any mid-sized American town, you’ve probably passed an Olive Garden. The low-slung building with the Tuscan-farmhouse look is hard to miss, usually sitting near a mall or a busy highway exit. It’s one of the most common sit-down restaurants in the country, and where the locations are says a lot about how Americans eat out.
How Many Are There?
As of February 2026, there were 956 Olive Garden restaurants in the United States. That’s up from roughly 936 a year earlier, so the chain is still growing slowly rather than shrinking, which is unusual for casual dining these days. The first one opened in 1982, and the brand now belongs to Darden Restaurants, the same company behind LongHorn Steakhouse and Yard House.
Where You’ll Find the Most
Texas leads by a wide margin. It has 118 restaurants, about 12 percent of the entire chain. That’s not surprising given how big the state is and how much Texans like a dependable family dinner out.
Florida and California come next, each holding about 8 percent of all locations. Florida is a good fit for the brand, since the first restaurant opened there. California has the lower density of the two: one restaurant for about every 500,000 people, compared with one per roughly 245,000 in Texas. So Californians have fewer Olive Gardens per head than Texans do, despite the big total.
Beyond those three, the chain follows population. Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, Georgia and North Carolina all have healthy numbers. If a state has suburbs, shopping centers and a lot of families, there’s probably an Olive Garden in it.
Where You Won’t
The chain operates in 54 states and territories, which leaves only four without a single restaurant. Those tend to be very small or remote places where a 200-seat restaurant simply wouldn’t make business sense.
Why the Locations Look the Way They Do
Olive Garden isn’t built for downtown. The typical restaurant sits in a suburban commercial strip with a large parking lot, close to retail and major roads. That’s deliberate. The customer is often a family, a group after church, or people heading out after shopping, and they’re almost always arriving by car. Dense city centers rarely suit that model, which is why you’ll find far more of them in the suburbs of a big city than in the city itself.
Outside the U.S.
The company has pulled back from some markets. In July 2025, Darden sold eight Olive Garden restaurants in Canada to Recipe Unlimited. At the same time, it holds franchise agreements covering Jamaica, alongside Aruba, The Bahamas and Barbados, so the brand is still looking at the Caribbean. At home, though, the U.S. remains by far the core of the business.

Checking the Full Olive Garden Menu and Prices
Before you head out, it helps to know what you’re going to order and roughly what it’ll cost. If you want to browse the full menu with prices, you can do that here: Olive Garden Menu With Check. Keep in mind that prices can vary from one location to another, depending on the city and state, so the number you see online may be a little different from what’s on the menu at your table. For the most accurate pricing, check with your local restaurant or use the ordering page on the official Olive Garden website.
Note: Location counts change as restaurants open and close, so treat these numbers as a snapshot from early 2026.
